Heavy Vehicle Driver practical in cab assessments
TR Driver Training has three, practical, in cab driver assessments that can be customised to suit client needs:

A practical and theory-based course designed to provide truck, bus and coach drivers with the latest knowledge and skills to enhance their driving performance and improve safety.

A pre-employment driver assessment.

Driver coaching and evaluation for experienced drivers.

Post incident evaulation.
Pre-employment driver assessments
- Individual driver evaluation – a snapshot assessment with no coaching provided.
- Ideal for pre-employment assessments.
- Ideally uses a set route to provide appropriate and consistent conditions.
- Includes a report identifying issues that need remedial action.
- Provides opportunities for up-skilling and retraining.
- Up to 2 hours including report preparation.
- Assesses up to 21 critical areas.
Heavy vehicle driver evaluation
- This is suitable for experienced drivers of rigid and combination vehicles.
- Involves coaching and assessment (against NZQA unit standards if required).
- Identifies, using a colour coded format, potential loss and/or risk factors to the company.
- A detailed report is provided.
- Between 2 and 4 hour or a full day practical drive – where possible “on-job”.
- Together with tailored in-class seminars the evaluation forms part of the TR Driver Training Heavy Vehicle Operator programme (and also the Heavy Vehicle National Certificate programme).
- The evaluation covers up to 21 critical areas of vehicle operation
